SRRT Meeting
Sept 10, 2009
Present: Nancy Littlejohn, Lee Webb, Philip Fitzsimmons, Tera McAmis, Stacy Delano, Carline Talent.
1. "The Box" - Phillip brought the box containing the roundtable's history. Nancy will take the box for this year.
2. Three budgets: general operating, workshops, OLA program. Include cost of plaque in annual budget. Ruth Brown award is a separate account.
Operating money comes from fees. Sales of raffle tickets - checks written must be made out to SRRT with a note "OLA for RUTH BROWN" on each check.
3. OLA program with Camile Alire -
We need to come up with a cool gift with Oklahoma flare.
4. Raffle items -
Idea for 2011 - raffle off ourselves as workers to go to another library and work.

5. Website - Phillip working on this - will make sure that our meetings and Ruth Brown are on there.
6. Ruth Brown Award - Lee. Everyone send Lee copies of the Ruth Brown papers. All Ruth Brown applications are to be sent electronically to our email address with cc to Kay at OLA . Make all application paperwork electronic BUT if can't do electronically, make contact us to apply with paper materials. Lee and Phillip will get Ruth Brown info out by mid-October. Application deadline will be Jan 15, 2010. Look at OLA and SRRT bylaws to see if there are any restrictions for these applications.
We have a group email account: SRRT@OKlibs.org - Let's check out this.
Do we want to have a second award? Do we want to accumulate money in our fund so that we have enough in the fund to raise the award amount?
Nancy will ask Kay for our current fund balance. Stacy will ask Linda Reynolds, OLA treasurer, for the possibility of placing some funds into an endowment account.
7. WORKSHOP - Let's plan a workshop for October of 2010. At our next meeting, send or bring IDEAS.
8. Nominating Committee: Chair Elect - Lee will look for names for ballot for Dec. 1. Tera will run for Chair Elect.
9. Other: RECRUIT new active members. Contact retired branch manager at Midwest City - she was active in SRRT.
10. SRRT emails only go to those who sign up for listserv.
11. Next meeting will be hosted by Fran Harbert at Del City Library - October 8.
12. Misc: Rick Bayless - chef - suggest as a keynote speaker conference -OU graduate, specializes in latino foods - family from OKC - inspirational. Empowering impoverished people and all libraries have his cookbooks.
