Ruth Brown Memorial Award Application 2012

The Award:

The Social Responsibilities Roundtable of the Oklahoma Library Association offers the Ruth Brown Memorial Award to recognize and support programming that addresses issues of social concern as they affect libraries, library collections, and the communities served by these libraries.   For more information visit the OLA website at www.ola.oklibs.org and go to the SRRT page.

Guidelines:

  1. Entries are limited to libraries, individuals, or organizations in the state of Oklahoma.
  2. Entry must be an ongoing project or completed within the last three years
  3. One recipient maybe selected annually dependent on qualifying applications.
  4. The winner will be recognized
  5. Winning entries immediately become ineligible for reentry.
  6. Entries may be used by SRRT for the purpose of publicizing outreach efforts and other activities that increase awareness of social issues in the Oklahoma library community.
  7. Current members of the Ruth Brown Memorial Award Committee are not eligible to submit entries.

Provide the following information:

  1. Provide a short description of the project.
  2. How does your project provide a creative response to a social issue or need?
  3. How did you identify that need within your community?
  4. What measurable impacts did your project have on your community?
  5. What library or information resources did you use? How did they impact the project?
  6. How could this project be adapted for other organizations to use? How could it address other social issues.

 

Special instructions:

  1. Copy and paste application into MS Word document.
  2. Limit the entire application to 3 pages.
  3. List name of your project at the top of each page.
  4. Submit as an email attachment.
  5. Include up to 3 pictures or other support materials to help us understand your project.  They should be submitted as email attachments.

We must receive your application by February 8th, 2012.
