- SAVE THE STATISTICAL ABSTRACT! The Commerce Department is facing budget cuts that will dissolve the Statistical Compendia Branch. The branch is responisble for the publication of the Statisitcal Abstract, the City and County Data Book, and other helpful publications. GODORT Purposes and functions
- To promote the awareness of government documents as useful sources of information.
- To provide instruction, training, and consultation for Oklahoma librarians in the acquisition, bibliographic control, and use of government documents.
- To cooperate with other Oklahoma Library Association divisions, roundtables, and committees which have activities relating to government documents.
- To cooperate with the American Library Association Government Documents Roundtable.
- To provide a forum for the discussion of problems relating to international, federal, state, and local government documents and other issues of mutual concern.
